First to Buzz in & Answer Incorrectly

The first player buzzes in but gives an incorrect answer before time expires.

  • The first player receives one strike.
  • The second player gets an opportunity to answer.
  • A correct second player advances; a wrong answer or timeout gives them a strike too.
3Three-strike ruleIf the second player is also wrong or runs out of time, two new players are selected for the next round. Anyone with fewer than three strikes goes back into the pool; three strikes means elimination.

  • The first player receives one strike.
  • Their opponent gets an opportunity to answer.
  • A correct opponent advances; a timeout or wrong answer gives them a strike too.

  • Both players receive one strike.
  • Both return to the pool if they have fewer than three strikes.

3Three-strike ruleThe next pairing can include either of the same players because everyone under three strikes remains eligible. Once a player reaches three strikes, they are eliminated from the game.
